Origins of CoreniaBug

CoreniaBug actually started with something pretty simple: a dad joke of the day.

I began telling customers at my job a daily dad joke, and somehow people actually started looking forward to them. 😂 My grandfather was the same way. He loved telling jokes to just about everyone he met and had what seemed like hundreds of them memorized. He always believed that something as simple as a joke could put a smile on someone’s face.

Eventually, customers started encouraging me to create my own channel, and before I knew it, CoreniaBug was born.

The name came together pretty naturally. Corenia is my first name, and I’ve always had a love and fascination for bugs of all kinds. Put the two together and you get CoreniaBug. 🐞

Dad jokes may have been where everything started, but CoreniaBug has grown into something much bigger.

CoreniaBug Today

These days, you’re more likely to find me exploring somewhere I’ve never been, trying something I’ve never done, discovering a place I didn’t know existed, or getting myself into a situation that probably seemed like a better idea before the camera started rolling. 😂

CoreniaBug is about experiences, adventures, unique places and genuine reactions.

I love finding places that are fun, unusual, nostalgic, interesting or just worth getting out of the house to see. That might mean stepping into a retro arcade, meeting animals, exploring a one of a kind attraction, trying a new experience or finding something tucked away right here in North Carolina.

And I don't want the videos to feel like commercials or perfectly planned travel shows. I want you to experience these places with me, including the laughs, surprises, awkward moments, little mistakes and everything else that happens along the way.

The humor is still here too. Dad jokes will always be part of where CoreniaBug came from, and I don't think my grandfather would let me completely get away from them anyway. 😂

Most importantly, CoreniaBug is meant to be a positive and welcoming place. I keep the channel clean and family friendly, and everyone is invited to be part of the fun.
